Arbitration is increasingly being used to resolve cross-border intellectual property and technology-based disputes. Each year, WIPO organises an Arbitration Workshop as part of its efforts to promote, and to provide training for, the use of effective Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) options and procedures.
This year, the WIPO Arbitration Workshop will be held at Maxwell Chambers, Singapore on Thursday and Friday, 18 & 19 October 2012. This is the first time that the Workshop is being held outside of Geneva and follows the establishment of the WIPO Center Office at Maxwell Chambers in Singapore.
The WIPO Arbitration Workshop is designed for lawyers, patent and trademark attorneys, and others who wish to familiarise themselves with the processes involved in international arbitration. There will be sessions devoted to topics such as recent developments in international arbitration; arbitration of intellectual property disputes; interim relief; hearings and evidence; awards; settlement in arbitration; and drafting dispute resolution clauses.
